La Mansaamo Kpee launches activities for 30th Anniversary

Accra, March 25, GNA – Mr. K. B. Asante, Chairman of Board of Directors of the La Community Bank on Wednesday congratulated members of the La Mansaamo Kpee for working to lift the image of the La community. He urged the executives of the association to provide a forum for a free discussion of all matters that would promote an orderly yet vigorous development of the La Traditional Area.

Mr. Asante was addressing members of the association at a ceremony at La to launch activities for the 30th Anniversary Celebration of Mansaamo Kpee.

The celebration is expected to create the needed awareness of the association and to mobilize community resources for community self-help projects.

He advised that the association should help raise the standard of living and the quality of life of the people by improving public health, sanitation, education and recreational facilities in the area through self- help and voluntary service.

He appealed to multilateral and bilateral agencies, governmental agencies, the donor community and members of the community to assist the association to mobilise financial and human resources for community development projects.

Mr. Peter Kpobi, the Chairman for the occasion said the association needed more funds to help develop the community with the provision of a community clinic, schools and a bank. He said the immediate plans of the association were to complete the Basic School Complex to increase enrolment and to invite private partnership for the completion and the management of the two storey community clinic building which was still under construction. Mr Kpobi named another priority as the La Mansaamo Kpee Educational Fund (LAMEF) to assist brilliant but needy students of La.
