La gas explosion: Mahama consoles victims

President John Dramani Mahama has expressed condolences to the dead in Thursday evening’s gas explosion at La.

The explosion, at Louis Gas Station near the Ghana International Trade Fair Center, led to the death of at least five persons while several others sustained various degrees of injury.

The injured were rushed to the 37 Military and La General hospitals. On his official Twitter page on Friday, President Mahama asked for prayers for the injured.

The cause of the explosion has not been made known but fire officers suspect the lighting of fire by a woman, who is among the five dead.

The fire is said to have scaled the wall of the Trade Fair Center, razing down some property and facilities around.
