La gas explosion: Alan loses sister

The sister of Trade-minister-designate Alan Kyerematen, who was involved in the La gas explosion has died, StarrFMonline.com has gathered.

Brigitte Kyerematen–Darko died Wednesday morning, family sources confirmed to StarrFMonline.com.

Her death brings to 12 the number of fatalities in the explosion, which occurred in December last year.

She was married to one Mr. Darko of GC-Net.

The explosion occurred when the machine emptying gas into the containers on site caught fire and lighted the electric cables close to the gas station.

The Fire Service’s preliminary investigations into the incident confirmed that the explosion was caused by ‘irresponsible human error’.
