Kyei¹s Suame constituency still the same after 16 years

A member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (N.P.P), Winfred Ofori Adjei has taken a swipe at the minority leader and Member of Parliament for Suame Hon. Osei Kyei Bonsu for having taken the people of the constituency for granted.

Mr. Adjei has therefore declared his intention to contest the sitting Member of Parliament as an independent candidate as a way of bringing the needed development to the Suame constituency.

According to him, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu having been in parliament for Sixteen (16) conservative years has not been able to bring any positive developments into the Suame constituency unlike his other colleagues in Tafo who has brought a lot of development to that area and commended the M.P. for Tafo, Osei Akoto even though he has been there for only two terms.

?Tafo was taken out of Suame, go there and see the development Akoto Osei has brought to them, why Suame, why should we be the escaped goat¹? he asked.

Speaking on Xfm¹s Œthe bite bite¹ morning show on Monday, December 5, 2011, he alleged that, his decision to go independent also stems from the fact that the executives in the constituency have prevented any one from contesting the sitting MP and the only way to unseat him is to go as an independent candidate.

He explained that, people in the constituency have vowed to vote for any other person than Hon. Bonsu and this is indicative of the situation which has culminated into two other independent people declaring their intentions to contest him.

He mentioned that although he has not been officially approached by the party to rescind his decision to contest the sitting MP, he personally has no intention of stepping down and is ready to battle Hon Osei Bonsu for the seat. The NPP in Ashanti over the weekend issued a warning to its supporters in the region and particularly the Suame constituency over what it called certain underground plot by the ruling N.D.C and certain individuals to pitch camp against the sitting MP for the area.
