Kwesi Botchwey Welcomes Dialogue With JJ

An NDC Presidential aspirant, Dr Kwesi Botchwey, says for the sake of unity and integrity of the party, he would welcome any early opportunity to dialogue with the former President, Flt. Lt. Rawlings to iron out their differences. He said such differences could also be resolved by the elders and appointed members of the party.

This is in reaction to some media reports alleging that Dr Botchwey has apologised to the former President.

The Presidential aspirant, who was speaking in an interview with the Graphic in Tamale, said, “so far as I am concerned, I have not wronged Mr Rawlings in anyway for which reason I must apologise to him.” He, however, hinted, “I am prepared at any time to meet him to have whatever strains and misunderstandings between us resolved.”

Dr Botchwey entreated media personnel to be circumspect, fair and also respect the tenets of the profession in their reportage. “You should strive not to succumb to mischief from any quarters, especially the kind that has the potential of destabilising the unity of the party and the country,” he cautioned.

The aspirant, who stormed the Northern Region with his campaign team last Friday, has since left to the Upper regions. He interacted with constituency executives and party supporters at the various constituencies and also met with some religious and opinion leader in the Tamale municipality.

Dr Botchwey was mobbed at almost all the places he visited. In some cases what was billed as meetings turned out to be mini rallies.

The presidential aspirant hinted that he would be visiting all the 23 constituencies in the three northern regions.
