Kwasi Ofori Asiamah appears before Appointments Committee – Highlights

Minister-designate for Transport, Kwasi Ofori Asiamah said he will employ technology at ports in the country and ensure container handling and other activities are separated to promote efficiency.

According to the yet to be approved minister who appeared before the Parliament’s Appointments Committee, Thursday – If technology is employed at the ports, the cost and time of transacting business will also reduce.

“I will advise the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) to look strictly into their technological involvements concerning the arrival and clearance of goods and cargo situations at the ports,” he indicated.

Mr. Ofori Asiamah also made known his intentions of working with the private sector to reduce ferry accidents by removing tree stumps and replacing the deteriorated Dambai ferry on the Volta lake.
