Kwamekrom gets new school block from HIPC fund

Kwamekrom (V/R), April 19, GNA – Mr Solomon Kwame Donkor, the acting Jasikan District Chief Executive, on Tuesday commissioned a 350 million-cedi school block for the Local Authority Junior Secondary School at Kwamekrom, funded from the HIPC fund.

It consists of three classrooms an office and store. Mr Donkor, who was on a tour of the area, also presented a 29-inch television set to the local Evangelical Presbyterian Primary School to be used for distance learning in science and mathematics. He urged the teachers to assist the pupils to benefit from the programme.

Meanwhile, Mr Mahama Awudu Salem of the Jasikan District branch of the Forestry Service has urged the community to protect their forest resources to prevent soil erosion and preservation of essential herbs and plants and animal species. 19 April 05
