Ghanaian midfielder Kwame Poku has sealed a permanent move to English Championship side Queens Park Rangers (QPR) from League One side Peterborough United.
The 23-year-old, who spent four years with Peterborough, made an impressive 147 appearances, scoring 30 goals and providing 30 assists. His contributions played a pivotal role in the club’s recent campaigns.
Speaking to QPR’s media after the announcement, Poku expressed his excitement about joining the club and the project they are building.
“I feel like the project they’re building here excites me, and I want to be part of taking QPR to that next level,” he said. “There’s good players here, and I think it’s exciting times for the club.”
Poku, who had a stint in the Championship during the 2019/20 season, is confident about making a strong impact this time around.
“I think I had some good performances, good on the ball. What separates then from now is the statistical side of it,” he explained. “Coming into this team with a lot of good attacking players and well-rounded players, I think I’ll create more chances, be at the end of a lot of chances, and get more numbers.”
Known for his creativity and left-footed finesse, Poku is eager to contribute to QPR’s attacking prowess.
The midfielder also has international experience, earning his first Black Stars cap in March 2021. With this new move, he hopes to cement his position at both club and national levels.
