Kwamankese installs new Adontehen

Kwamankese (C/R, Dec. 18, GNA – A 62-year-old land administrator was on Saturday installed the Adontehen of Kwamankese Traditional Area in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese district under the stool name Nana Osei Sekyere Amoah VIII.

Nana Osei Sekyere Amoah, known in private life as Mr Daniel Osei Sekyere, succeeded his uncle, Nana Anamoah Assan VII, who abdicated the stool some months ago on personal reasons.

According to the tradition and custom of the area, Adontehen is recognized as the overlord and also second-in-command to the Omanhene stool.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after swearing the oath of allegiance to climax his installation, Nana Amoah pledged to help improve the living standard of people in the area. He expressed concern about the fallen standard of education in the area and pledged to cooperate with stakeholders to promote it. He also urged the youth to rally behind him to ensure the rapid development of the traditional area.

Nana Idun Andoh X, Omanhene of Kwamankese Traditional Area, urged the new chief not to lord over the people but see his position as an opportunity to lead and serve his people.

He called on him to exhibit good leadership qualities by being transparent and accountable in all his endeavours to help move the area forward.

The Omanhene appealed to the government to rehabilitate feeder roads linking Afrangua, Kwamankese, Ayeldu, and Kwadoegya, to facilitate easy movement of people and goods.

The Queenmother, Nana Ama Enyima III, asked the people to remain united and pull their resources towards the socio-economic and development of the traditional area.

She appealed to the people of the area especially those who had not registered with the National Health Insurance scheme to do so to enable them have access to affordable health care.
