Kwakwaduam Association of NY donates to the Akropong School for the Blind

The Kwakwaduam Association Inc of New York has donated about 220 Talking Calculators and several items of clothing worth about $5000 to the Akropong School for the Blind, Ghana

In receiving the items the Headmistress of the School, Ms. Mahela Narh, expressed her extreme gratitude to the Kwakwaduam Association Inc. for their continued support of the School. She indicated that it was only last year that Kwakwaduam constructed three bore holes to provide water for the school. She said the talking calculators will go a long way to improve the quality of teaching to the students.

Osahene Offei Agyeman, Kurontihene and Chairman of the Board of Directors said he was impressed by the continued support of the school by Kwakwaduam and thanked the Organization for its commitment to community development. He said he was thankful to all those through whose efforts the talking calculators were purchased.

Mr. Paul Ansah, the Deputy Secretary of Kwakwaduam Association Inc on his part indicated his hope that the items will be put to use for the advantage of the patients The President of Kwakwaduam Association, Dr. Kwame Aniapam Boafo, in his remarks reiterated the commitment of the Organization to community development and pledged continued logistic for the school. He made particular mention of the Presbyterian Church of Maryland which donated the bulk of the calculators. The Kwakwaduam Association Inc. is a Kwakwaduam is a community based Non-Profit Organization whose mission is to organize activities to enhance the socio-economic, educational, health, cultural and financial aspects of its members and the community and to extend the community and to extend the same to Ghana and Africa in general.
