Kwahu West makes healthcare a major priority

The Kwahu West Municipal Assembly has made access to quality health care a major priority on its development agenda.

Mr. Yaw Owusu Addo, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that it would build more Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds, health centres and clinics.

The goal was to bring healthcare closer to the people – they would not have to travel long distances.

Mr. Owusu-Addo announced plans to construct a new office for the municipal health directorate on a 10-acre land released to the assembly by the Obomenghene, Nana Effah Pinaman.

He noted the congestion at municipal health office, and said, things needed to change, to create more space, provide some comfort and convenience to the health workers.

The MCE praised the Obemenghene for giving out the land.
