Kwahu-West Assembly elects Presiding Member

Nkawkaw (E/R), Oct. 31, GNA – A 42-year-old Public Relation Officer at the Kwahu South District Education office Mr Emmanuel Boansi Darkwa, was on Monday elected the Presiding Member of the Kwahu west District Assembly.

Mr Darkwa, who is the Assembly Member for Kwahu Nsaba electoral area, polled 23 votes, representing 85 percent of the 26 votes cast. His challenger, Mr Agyenim Boateng, assembly member for Jamasi, stepped down.

The District Chief Executive, Nana Kofi Kese, urged the elected and appointed members of the assembly to bury their differences and unite to move the district forward. The assembly was inaugurated by Mr Kwadwo Agyei-Darko, Minister of State at the Office of the President, who read the President’s inaugural address.
