Kwahu North District Co-ordinator of the NFED being investigated

Donkorkrom (E/R), May 24, GNA – The Kwahu North District Co-ordinato r of the Non-Formal Education Division (NFED) of the Ministry of Education, Mr William Botwe, is being investigated by the Donkorkrom police for defraud ing people of various sums of money under the pretext of offering them employment.

The Donkorkrom District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police Kwadwo Addu Baadu, when Botwe got the appointment last year, he we nt to one Mr Franz Amoako, a chemical seller at Donkorkrom and promised to offer him employment as a Supervisor at the NFED and collected 100 Ghana cedis from him.

He also collected 69 Ghana cedis from one Mr Bright Dzokpe and promi sed to employ him as a Supervisor at and that he would use the money to proce ss his appointment papers at Koforidua. But when the victim realized that Botwe was not fulfilling his promi se and had refused to refund the money he reported to the police. Botwe admitted in his caution statement that he collected the money to buy fuel for his official car to enable him to travel to Koforidua to process their appointment papers. He said Botwe later refunded 60 Ghana cedis as part of the money he collected from the two people and promised to refund the rest later.
