Kwahu East Assembly presents items to Muslims

Miaso E/R, Aug 31, GNA – The Kwahu East District Assembly has presented 65 bags of maize, 20 bags of rice and 25 litres of vegetable oil to Muslims and 51 Zongo communities in the district to celebrate the end of their 30 days Ramadan fast. The beneficiary Zongo communities included Akwasiho, Abetifi, Suminakese, Hweehwe, Sempoa, Kwahu Tafo, Ankoma and Oframase. The other communities are Oworopong, Miaso, Onyemso, Dwerepease, Nkwantanang and Hyewohoden. Presenting some of the food items to the Muslims of Miaso Zongo the District Chief Executive, Mr Samuel Asamoah, appealed to the Muslims to continue to pray for peace. Mr Asamoah appealed to them to send their children to school to acquire formal education in addition to their Islamic education to get the requisite knowledge to contribute towards the development of the nation.

He said the assembly was also offering scholarships to needy but brilliant children who qualified for Senior High School. Receiving the items the chiefs of the various Zongo communities, commended the government for the donation and appealed for assistance to construct mosque, classroom blocks, boreholes and extension of electricity.
