Kwaebibirem launches Child Health Promotion Week

Anweaso (E/R), Aug. 20, GNA – The Kwaebibirem District Child Health Promotion Week had been launched at Anweaso, near Akwatia, with a call on parents to take care of their children, especially the babies, to ensure that they were always healthy.

Launching the Week, the Kwaebibirem District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Yaw Yiadom-Boakye, said the Assembly and the Social Investment Fund were building clinics in areas that were far from current health facilities.

“For a start, two of them are being built at Nkwaakwakrom Number Four and Larbikrom, for which the Ministry of Health is ready to provide personnel and equipment.”

He said the Assembly was training two nurses to man the clinics. Mr Odame Asiedu, the District Director of Health Services, said nurses would be visiting all communities to immunise children and urged parents to take advantage of that to ensure the survival of their babies.
