Kenyase, (Ash), Jan. 2, GNA – Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, Kwabre West constituency chairman of the NPP, has advised party members to put the past behind them and unite to ensure the party retained power in the 2008 elections. He said there was the need for all factions in the party in the constituency to come together in the spirit of mutual understanding and trust to ensure a formidable and united party in 2007.
Odeneho Appiah made the call at an end-of-year interaction with polling station chairmen, constituency executives and party members at Kenyase on Sunday. He expressed concern about “external manipulation” of some members of the party and said that was tearing the party apart in the constituency and urged members not to yield to external influence to break their ranks.
Odeneho Appiah said the 2008 elections posed a great challenge to the party in the constituency and there was the need for all members to come together as one people to ensure total victory. The polling station chairmen expressed their support for the chairman and advised regional executive members who were trying to exert their influence on members to desist from such acts to ensure unity and calm in the party in the constituency. Mr Opoku Agyeman, polling station chairman of Adwumakase-kese and Abuabugya area, said external manipulation of members in the constituency was a great source of worry to them and urged the rank and file to close their ranks in order to ward-off external forces.
