Kwabre East improves BECE performance

Mamponten (Ash) Sept 8, GNA – The Rev Joseph Ofosuhene, the Kwabre East District Director of Education, has said the District was progressing steadily in students’ performance in the Basic Education Certificate of Examination (BECE).

He said in the 2008 BECE, the district placed 56th on the National League Table but in 2009 the district scaled up to the 32nd position.

Expectations are thus high this year the district will come up among the first 10 top districts in the country, he said.

The Rev Ofosuhene was welcoming members of the Ashanti Regional Association of Metropolitan and District Municipal and District Directors of Education to their Annual Review Meeting at Mamponten.

He said with the support of the district assembly and some benevolent individuals, the District Education Directorate was putting up an eight-unit office extension to accommodate the increasing number of staff.

He commended all stakeholders for their contribution in improving education in the district.

The one-day meeting brought together all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Directors of Education in the Ashanti Region.
