Kwabre assembly to pay 120 million cedis to assembly members

Mamponteng (Ash), Sept 12, GNA – The Kwabre District Assembly is to pay a total of 120 million cedis to its 60 assembly members as ex-gratia award, Alhaji Ahmed Akwasi Yeboah, the District Chief Executive, has said.

He said the amount would be paid to members as soon as the assembly received the government’s white paper covering the narration from the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Environment.

Speaking at the last meeting to dissolve the assembly at Mamponteng on Monday, Alhaji Yeboah said the assembly members would continue to perform their functions until new assembly members are elected and sworn into office. Dr Krobea Asante, the Presiding Member, thanked members for their comportment throughout their four-year service to the assembly.
