Kwabeng installs new chief

Prof Dr. Dr. K. Kyei-Aboagye of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, University for Development Studies- Tamale, has been installed as the new chief of Akyem Kwabeng in the Atiwa District under the stool name Daasebre Aboagye Oware Nkwantabisa 11.

The new chief, who becomes the 34th Gyasehene of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Area, hails from the Kokobeng House.

Daasebre Aboagye Oware Nkwantabisa called for efforts from all towards the speedy development of the area and appealed to his people to guard against petty squabbles and to unite since “disunity retards progress”.

He said the time had come when communities should stop looking up to the government to provide them with all their needs, but must initiate self-help projects to supplement the government’s efforts.
