Kwabena Donkor speaks on AMERI deal

The AMERI power deal signed as an emergency power agreement between the government represented by the Minister of Power and AMERI to help reduce the country’s power deficit at the time has raised some controversies.

The power deal is said to have been sold by AMERI at a significantly higher price – 150 million dollars, than it was charged by the Turkish registered company; PPR which financed and executed the project.

This raised several concerns with government hinting a possible negotiation on the grounds of fraud and it was required that investigations be set into the issue.

Former Power Minister responsible for the deal at the time, Kwabena Donkor has come out to speak on issues regarding the power deal and concerns of fraud raised.
