Kwabena Agyepong praises Tolon people

A General Secretary aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has lauded the immense contributions of the people of Tolon in the political space of Ghana, especially in the formation of the Danquah–Busia-Dombo Tradition.

Speaking at the palace of the Tolon Naa, Major (Rtd) Sulemana, Mr Agyepong acknowledged the struggle and loyalty of the people of Dagbon and how they have stood firmly by the NPP at all times.

He informed the wise regent that when given the mandate, he would institute a special programme that would honour the contributions of the unsung patriots of the tradition.

The elated regent of the land, who welcomed Kwabena Agyepong, admonished the team to be mindful of the task ahead especially with the recent revelations in the presidential election petition.

He prayed that the delegates would be touched by God to vote massively for Kwabena come March 1st 2014.

He called for unity and praised Kwabena Agyepong for his immense dedication to the tradition, acknowledging the relationship that existed between the two.

The ‘Kwabena 4 GS’ team later met party executives at the Tolon, Kumbungu, Savalugu and Nanton constituency.

“The very things that unite us as party far outweigh the issues that divide us.”

He promised to drive a strong grassroots organization capable of detecting any electoral fraud.

Kwabena Agyepong used the occasion to appeal to the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the NPP to reconsider its directive to hold the upcoming national executive elections slated for 1st March simultaneously at regional polling stations across the country.

He argued that the conference was an opportunity for party faithful to fraternize and build a strong sense of belonging.
