Kuoro Liman heads Upper West House of Chiefs

Wa, Sept. 16, GNA – The Upper West Regional House of Chiefs on Tuesday, elected Kuoro Kuri-Buktie Liman the IV, Paramount Chief of Gwollu Traditional Area in the Sissala District as its new President. He succeeds Naa Abaifaa Karbo, Paramount Chief of Lawra Traditional Area whose three-year term has ended. Naa Sohamininye Danah Gore II, Paramount Chief of Dorimon Traditional Area in the Wa West District became the new Vice-President. They were all elected unopposed.

A statement issued by the Acting Registrar of the House, Mr Jude Goo, said three other members of the House in addition to the President and his Vice were also elected to serve in the National House of Chiefs. They included, Naa Banamini Sandu II, Paramount Chief of Kaleo Traditional Area, Naa (Dr.) Puore Puobe Chiir, the Nandom Naa and Kuoro Gilbert Badzoe Kanton, the Tumu Kuoro. Kuoro Liman and his Vice would be sworn into office at later date.
