Kumawu (Ash), Oct 6, GNA – Mrs Rose Amoateng, manageress of the Kumawuman Institute of Skills Training, has expressed concern about lack of facilities like accommodation, workshops, tools and other logistics at the institute.
She has therefore appealed to the government, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), churches and individuals to help improve facilities at the institute to enhance teaching and learning. Mrs Amoateng told the GNA in an interview that the institute, established three years ago with the enrolment of 18 students, now has 80 students and offers courses in general electrical, masonry and carpentry.
Mrs Amoateng commended Barima Asumadu Sakyi, Omanhene of Kumawu, for releasing a large tract of land to the institute and Mr Yaw Baah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, for donating 20 bags of cement and two packets of roofing sheets towards the improvement of facilities at the institute. She appealed to the youth in the area to patronise the institute for training in employable skills.
