Kumasi: Traders stage naked demonstration

Women affected by the latest fire outbreak at the Kumasi Central Market in the Ashanti region have staged a naked demonstration in the regional capital.

The women are protesting the decision by authorities of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly to reconstruct the market for them.

The Sunday morning fire razed down dozens of shops, destroying properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis.

According to Luv News’ Erastus Asare Donkor, the traders insist they must be allowed to reconstruct the burnt market themselves.

He said the police are “helpless” as the women go naked in front of the cameras.
