Kumasi-Techiman road to begin

Mr John Kilburn, resident engineer for the consultants, Louis Berger/Comptran, says work on the rehabilitation of the second phase of the Kumasi-Techiman road worth 30.7 million euros begins next month.

The project which includes the rehabilitation of 75 kilometres of paved road and the construction of a 2.1 Km carriageway is being undertaken by MSF-SOECO JV, a Portuguese-Senegalese company.

Mr Kilburn who disclosed this to the paper during an inspection tour of the project site in Kumasi said, the European Union is financing the project under the 9th European Development Fund adding that it will be completed in May 2008.
