Kumasi Police Depot Revived

The Kumasi Police Depot, which was abandoned for years, has now been rehabilitated and taken on a new lease of life.

From February 6, it will begin functioning as a regional training centre, commencing with the first batch of 150 recruits. The IGP, Nana Owusu Nsiah, announced this in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region while expressing his deepest appreciation to the government for releasing funds to rehabilitate the police training school and other police projects in the region.

He said for years the police depot was left in a deplorable state and later turned into a make-shift living quarters “for some police personnel on transfer to the Ashanti Region.”
