The Ashanti regional police anti-robbery taskforce team has arrested 7 suspected armed robbers in the region including the deadly Jallo Djani who has been on the police wanted list for some time now.
The gang according to Ashanti regional police commander, COP Nathan Kofi Boakye among others have been terrorizing residents of Kumasi and other mining communities particularly in the Amanse district.
Addressing a news Conference in Kumasi, COP Kofi Boakye described the gang as notorious robbers who shoot without provocation and are unable to account for the number of robbery victims they have killed.
‘We declared some people wanted prominent among them was, Jallo, with the help of the taskforce, we first arrested two , which they confessed were properties of Jallo, we realized that there was a shoot-out and the two died, he was finally arrested. He relocated from Ejisu to Akatsi, he confessed to his crimes, what is important to note is that he and his people shoot indiscriminately,’ he said.
Ultimate News’ Isaac Bediako reported that Police search in their hideout retrieved 2 foreign Pistols and 2 AK47 rifles out of 9 AK47 rifles they have been using for their robbery operations.
