Kumasi Mayor ‘weak’; not cut for the job – Odike

Founder and leader of Kumasi-based United Front Party (UFP), Mr. Akwasi Addai Odike has descended heavily on the Mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi describing him a “weak person” for the position.

According to the 2016 UFP flagbearer, the Mayor has been sleeping on his job to ensure easy movement of traffic in the metropolis after several calls on him to stop traders in the metropolis from plying their businesses on pavements.

“I see Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi is weak to control sellers on the streets”, he observed whilst commenting on the orders of the Regional Minister Simon Osei Mensah to evict traders on pavements and unauthorized places.

The maverick politician explained that some appointees of the Akufo-Addo led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government are frightened and cautious of taking and implementing certain policies that will benefit the people eventually.

“Some appointees of the government are even frightened to take decisions that will benefit the people”, he said on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM

“Do not get frightened. Be bold to take decisions as a leader that will benefit the people you are serving”, he admonished

“Everything points that you people are not corrupt and ready to serve Ghanaians unlike the previous administration so just take radical decisions to evict traders plying their businesses on pavements”, the UFP founder suggested.
