Kumasi Lions Club donates to school

Jamasi (Ash), Oct 21, GNA – The Kumasi Royal Lions Club at the weekend presented 25.2 million cedis from the District 105A of the United Kingdom (UK) to the Ashanti School For The Deaf at Jamasi towards its water project.

The presentation was the result of an appeal made to the Governor of District 105A when he visited the School recently. Presenting the money to the School, Miss Michaela Kusi, President of the Kumasi Royal Lions Club, commended the School authorities for their hard work at training the unfortunate children to develop their potentials.

She expressed satisfaction with progress so far made on the project that is nearing completion.

Mr J.K. Brantuo, Headmaster of the School, who received the money expressed his appreciation to the donors and appealed to the club to help provide an overhead water tank to facilitate the distribution of water to students.

He warned the public to be wary of some unscrupulous deaf students, who are going round with forged letterheads soliciting for help for the School.

”If the public has anything to give to the School, it should be given directly to the School.”
