Kumasi East Rotary Club fumigates detention centres in Kumasi

Kumasi, Sept. 25, GNA – The Kumasi East Rotary Club in July this year fumigated bug-infested cells at Manhyia Prison and the Central Police station in Kumasi at the cost of GH¢1,000 as part of its humanitarian undertakings. The gesture was in response to an appeal made to the Club by the authorities when members visited the detention centres last year. Mr. Solomon Kyeremanteng, Director of Community Services of the Club, said inmates of the reformation centres, some of whom have been condemned, needed to be made to feel they are part of the society when their basic needs are taken care of.
