Kumasi Central Prisons in flames; Inmates on rampage

There is a fire outbreak at the Kumasi Central Prisons causing mayhem as inmates try to find escape route to save their lives.

Reports reaching Starrfmonline.com have it that fire fighters have managed to bring the inferno under control, but prison wardens and armed police officers who have been called in for reinforcement are finding it difficult to control the inmates.

Starrfmonline.com can confirm that there is sporadic gunshots from the prison as reports indicate that the prisoners want to take advantage of the melee to escape.

“There is heavy security here. The inmates are fighting the security and injuring the security men and really want to escape.

“I can hear the security men shouting in there and calling on men with weapons to come in and offer backup,” Ultimate FM’s Julius Caesar told Starr News.

“There is a need for reinforcement to bring the rioting under control. The security personnel are finding it difficult to bring the situation under control.”
