Kumasi Ashtown shooting: Three arrested

Joynews has learnt that three persons – two men and a woman- have been picked up by the Police in connection with the recent shootings in Ashtown, a suburb of Kumasi.

Two persons were shot and killed by unknown assailants last week in what police suspect to be reprisals in connection with some violence which occurred in the Manhyia South Constituency during the 2012 electioneering campaign.

Erastus Asare Donkor speaking on the Midday News said, sources have confirmed that one was arrested in Accra and the other two in Kumasi.

It included a woman who is reportedly the girlfriend of one of the suspects.

Residents have welcomed the news and have expressed the hope that progress will continue.
