Kufuor’s liberty lecture was political talk – Bissiw

A deputy Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Hannah Bissiw has described ex President Kufour’s speech at last Thursday’s Liberty lectures organised by Danquah Institute, as non-nationalistic.

President Kufuor at the Lecture commended his government for various projects it undertook while he served as President.

He further sought to project the NPP’s Presidential candidate Nana Akufo Addo as an experienced candidate who is best for Ghana.

But Hannah Bissiw, speaking on Radio XYZ’s Saturday Political Talk Programme the ‘Analyst’, said President Kufuor’s speech which did not prioritise President Nkrumah and President Rawlings achievements, was unpatriotic.

“I don’t see the speech as nationalistic, it was purely political organized by the Danquah Institute. If he was going to address as a statesman, the platform would have been different.

“I may be wrong but I don’t believe this speech was written from his office”.

Meanwhile, a member of the Communication team of the NPP and a panel on the show, Ibrahim Adjei disagreed with the assertions of the deputy Water Resources Minister.

According to him, ex President Kufuor’s speech was a call to all the political players in the society to help empower Ghanaians.

“President Kufuor’s speech was a call the political players in our society to empower the people”.
