Kufuor to address People’s Assembly

Cape Coast, Jan. 3, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor, would host this year’s Peoples Assembly in Cape Coast, on Tuesday January 10, at the Victoria Park.

This is the first time the President would be addressing the assembly outside Accra, since its inception five year ago.

Nana Ato Arthur, Deputy Central Regional Minister made this known at a press briefing in Cape Coast on Tuesday.

Mr Arthur, who is also the publicity chairman for the event, said the Regional Coordinating Council in collaboration with the Ministry of Information was “working hard” to ensure the success of the programme and called on the public to give it the needed support and patronage.

He thanked the President for selecting the region to host the programme and called on the people in the region to show their appreciation by comporting themselves during the programme.

He advised the public to ask “intelligent and useful questions” and not only shower praises on the government, and cautioned that those, who would want to use the occasion to cause trouble, would be dealt with.
