Kufuor to address ADR Summit in Nigeria

Accra, Nov. 10, GNA – Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, leaves Accra on Wednesday for Lagos, Nigeria to address the 5th summit of the Negotiation and Conflict Management Group.

The two-day annual event would be organised in conjunction with the Nigerian National Judicial Institute, on the theme: “Political Differences and Electoral Disputes in Africa: Challenges of the Courts and the Promise of ADR.”

A statement issued in Accra by Mr Frank Agyekum, Spokesperson at the office of the former President, said Mr Kufuor is expected to speak on: “Effective Management of Political Differences and its Impact on Economic Development.”

“He will also speak on the mounting spate of electoral disputes in Africa and the challenges they pose to the administration of justice,” the statement said. Former President Kufuor would touch on some conflict spots in Africa, which had arisen because of electoral disputes and proffer some suggestions to end them. Mr Kufuor returns home on Friday, 12th November. 10 Nov. 10
