Kufuor leaves for Khartoum

Accra, Jan. 20, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor left Accra on Friday for Khartoum, Sudan to attend the Sixth Ordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU).

The summit is expected to discuss a wide range of issues on the continent with emphasis on education and culture.

In Khartoum, President Kufuor would also attend the Fourth Summit of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) Forum where Ghana and Rwanda would submit themselves for review.

President Kufuor was seen off by Vice-President Alhaji Aliu Mahama, Ministers of State, the Inspector General of Police, Patrick Kwarteng Acheampong and Chief of Defence Staff, Major- General Joseph Boakye Danquah.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku, Minister for Regional Integration and NEPAD are already in Khartoum.
