Kufuor leaves for Addis-Ababa

Accra, Oct. 03, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor left Accra on Wednesday morning for Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to participate in high level consultations with the African Union (AU) Commission on urgent issues. Some of the issues are, recent attacks on members of AU Peacekeeping Force in the Darfur region.

Mr Andrew Awuni, Presidential Spokesman told journalists at Kotoka International Airport that President Kufuor who is also the AU Chairman would hold discussions with Ethiopian President Meles Zenawi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel who is leading a high powered German Parliamentary Group on a visit to AU Headquarters.

Ministers of State, government officials and Lieutenant General J.B. Danquah, Chief of Defence Staff.

The President is expected back home on October 5, the statement said.
