Kufuor in New York

President J. A. Kufuor arrived in New York last Monday to attend the 60th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The President was met on arrival at the John F. Kennedy Airport by officials of the Ghana Mission in New York and Washington.

He was accompanied by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and senior officials of the presidency.

President Kufuor was scheduled to deliver a lecture on the topic ?The Democratic Transformation of Ghana? at the University of Connecticut yesterday and attend a reception to be hosted by President and Mrs Bush for leaders attending the UN Assembly.

According to the programme released by the Ghana Mission in New York, President Kufuor will hold a number of bilateral meetings with leaders from Austria, Guinea Bissau, Switzerland and South Africa and pay a courtesy call on Mr Kofi Annan, the UN secretary- general.

President Kufuor is also scheduled to address the General Assembly of the UN.
