Kufuor failed to change Ghana – Prof. Akosa

Former Director-General of the Ghana Health Services, Prof. Agyeman Badu Akosa says Ex-President John Agyekum Kufuor could have done far better during his reign as President of Ghana.

According to him, Ghanaians who obviously were fed up with the nineteen (19) year rule of ex-President Rawlings gave President Kufuor’s government adequate goodwill and were prepared to help him succeed but he couldn’t do much.

Speaking to Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM, Prof. Badu Akosa who is also a stalwart of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) stated that the Kufuor Administration missed a lot of opportunities that came its way, which the government failed to seize to make Ghana a better place.

“The opportunity was great for the Kufuor Administration, to the extent that the international community was prepared to give off much to help Ghana. Even spare parts dealers in Abossey Okine reduced prices of their wares as a sign of goodwill, that is the extent to which Ghanaians sacrificed to make his regime succeed, but yet not much was achieved under his reign. For me that is where I end with the Kufuor Administration”.
