Kufuor doesn’t support Akufo Addo ‘purely’ – Mallam Issah

Former Sports Minister during Ex-President John Agyekum Kufour’s tenure of office, Mallam Ali Yusif Issah, has intimated that the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party NPP, Nana Addo, does not respect Ex-President Kufuor – a reason why the latter doesn’t support the former enough in his quest for Presidential office.

Speaking in an interview monitored by GhanaPoliticsOnline.Com at the time he was asked why he thinks Kuffuor wasn’t comfortable with him being put before court after he misplaced some monies meant for the state, Mallam Issah ,as he popularly came to be known, said Akufo Addo at the time, wanted him to be sacrificed.

He alleged that Akufo Addo did all that out of lack of respect and that it got to a point even when Nana Addo was being called upon for deliberations on his fate, Nana maintained evasiveness until he asked them to forget chasing Nana Addo for any meeting on his issue.

“Ghanaians keep saying they want the truth but they hate to listen to the truth. Akufo Addo always thinks he’s the better person to be president and not Kuffuor – so he has no respect for him. I have no bitterness in me. I’m telling you the truth“ Mallam Issah said.

According to him, if he has any bitterness in him, he wouldn’t be visiting Kuffuor regularly and be checking on him more often. “If you want to see Kuffuor today, I can book appointment for you. That alone should tell you my relationship with Kuffuor.”

Ending, he further alleged, “People in NPP including Kuffuor are only campaigning for Nana Addo because they love NPP and not because they want Nana Addo to be president. The campaign they are doing for Nana Addo is not from their hearts purely. That’s the bitter truth.
