Kufuor consoles India over Mumbai terror attack

Accra, Nov. 28, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor on Friday conveyed his heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the bereaved families and the entire people and government of India over the terrorist siege against Mumbai.

A statement signed by Mr Andrew Awuni, Press Secretary to the President and Presidential Spokesman, said President Kufuor, in a letter to the Indian President Pratibha Devisignh Patil, said he received with great shock and sadness the news of the terrorist siege against Mumbai. It said the government of Ghana condemned in no uncertain terms the terrorist act which had led to the loss of more than 100 innocent lives and he reaffirmed Ghana’s support for the fight against international terrorism.

President Kufuor said he was confident that even in this moment of sadness the resilient spirit of the people of India and Mumbai in particular would once again surge the entire nation to triumph over this evil and senseless tragedy.
