Kufuor Consoles Bush

President John Kufuor has sent a message of condolence to his US counterpart, George W. Bush on the death of the Columbia Space Shuttle Crew last Saturday, February 1.

The contents of the president?s message read; ?I have received with shock and dismay the news of the Columbia Space Shuttle disaster and the death o seven crew members on Saturday 1, February, 2003.

May I, on behalf of the government and people of Ghana extend my heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to you, the government and people of the United States, particularly, the families of these astronauts who have no doubt contributed significantly to mankind?s better understanding of the Universe.

May their souls rest in perfect peace and the good Lord grant their families fortitude and solace during this time of grief.

Accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.
