Kufuor commends C’ttee of Eminent Chiefs on Dagbon

Accra, April 3, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor on Monday commended the Committee of Eminent Chiefs for the work done so far in pushing forward the Dagbon peace process.

Mr Kwabena Agyepong, Press Secretary of the President, told a press briefing at the Castle, Osu that President Kufuor endorsed their efforts at amicably resolving the crisis especially the burial of the late Dagbon overlord, Ya-Na Yakubu Andani II.

The President urged them to build on what they had done so far until lasting peace was achieved.

The Government, he said, would continue to support the peace process and the arrangements for the Ya-Na’s burial scheduled for April 10.

President Kufuor also recognized the compromises made by the two royal gates, the Andanis and Abudus, in reaching some agreement and encouraged them to pursue the path of peace.
