Kufuor angry with Bawumia

Close associates to former President John Kufuor are hinting The Informer that the former President is so livid with the 2008/2012 running-mate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for inviting unnecessary partisanship into the otherwise solemn first anniversary lecture.

Mr. Kufuor’s anger stems from the fact that the occasion was supposed to be a solemn and non-partisan one.

They added: if he (Bawumia) wanted to be popular and speak; he should have called a press conference later to push along his political rubbish”.

The source revealed that even though ex-President Kufuor said he hardly agrees with the views of Alhaji Haruna Atta, Managing Editor of the Accra Mail; this time” Haruna Atta was spot–on”.

The Accra Mail Managing Editor was not happy with the way Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia had handled the topic he supposed to deliver at Aliu’s First Memorial lecture, and expressed misgiving.
