Krofa bags 15.6 million cedis for developments

Krofa (Ash), May 1, GNA – About 15.6 million cedis was realised by the chiefs and people of Krofa in the Asante-Akim South District at a fund-raising harvest in aid of electrification and boreholes projects.

The people are also contributing 10,000 cedis per man and 5,000 cedis per woman for non-residents while residents are paying 5,000 cedis and 3,000 cedis per man and woman respectively towards the execution of the projects.

Speaking at the function, Nana Danso Frimpong II, Chief of Krofa, expressed his sincere appreciation to the government for pledging assistance on the electrification and boreholes projects.

He advised the people to refrain from negative tendencies like apathy towards communal labour since the development of the town was the collaborative efforts of all.

Miss Rosemary Osei-Tutu, assembly member for the area, has instituted an award for girls who will excel in academic work. Nana Asare Bediako, Akutuasehene, who chaired the function, commended timber contractors operating in the area for assisting in the development of the communities.
