Krachi West elects parliamentary candidate

Chinderi (V/R), July 28, GNA – Mr Kofi Mensah Demetia, 50, a Director at the Tema Development Council (TDC) has been elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate for the Krachi-West Constituency for Election 2004.

He polled 91 votes out of 119 votes cast to beat Mr Kingclay Abisah, an Educationist, who got 24 votes.

Mr Demetia commended the delegates for the overwhelming support and pledged to create a good atmosphere to attract many people into their fold for a resounding victory.

Mr Kenwuud Nuworsu, Volta Regional Chairman of NPP, said the Krachi and Nkwanta seats were Danquah-Busia Tradition inclined but was annexed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) when the NPP boycotted the 1992 elections.

Mr Kwasi Owusu-Yeboa, Volta Regional Minister, cautioned the Party’s supporters not to be complacent but work hard towards a resounding victory.
