Krachi (V/R), Nov. 20, GNA – Mr Douglas Osei Nti, 35, District Claims Manager of the Mutual Health Insurance scheme has been elected to contest the Krachi West parliamentary seat for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2008.

Mr Nti beat Mr Kofi Mensah Demitia, outgoing District Chief Executive for the area by a single ballot of 57 to 56 in the vote supervised by the Electoral Commission. Mr Richard Amofa, a third contestant did not get any ballot. In brief remarks, Mr Nti thanked the delegates for reposing trust in him, which he said should be the platform for hard work and peaceful co-existence towards wrestling the constituency seat from the National Democratic Congress.
