Kormantse Upper Town to get potable water

Kormantse (C/R), Nov. 23, GNA – The Rotary Club of Conway Arkansas in the United States of America (USA) is to provide potable water for the people of Kormantse Upper Town in the Central Region. The project estimated at 113 million cedis is the brainchild of Evangelist Jason Rapert, a member of the club who visited the town last year.

Evangelist Rapert of the Holy Ghost Ministries would provide a booster estimated at 6,500 Euros.

It would be executed through the Rotary Club of Achimota. Briefing the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Robert Quainoo Arthur, District Chief Executive for Mfantseman, assured donor partners of the Assembly’s support for any individual or organisation, which would initiate a programme to improve the living conditions of the people. Mr Quainoo-Arthur said the District Assembly and the government needed the help of such partners to accelerate the pace of development and expressed gratitude to those who had started projects in the district.

Both Nana Kwame Akyen II and Nana Bimpong Otu of Kormantse No.1 and Kormantse No.2 expressed happiness and appreciation to the Evangelist for the project.

Nana Akyen said the water system to the Upper town broke down in 1976 and had not been rehabilitated.
