Korle-Bu Junior Doctors On Strike

Junior doctors of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital yesterday withdrew their services partially, in protest against what they perceived as distortions in the Ghana Universal Salary Structure (GUSS).

They had resolved to attend to only in-patients, while continuing negotiations with the Ministry of Health and threatened further action if their demands were not met after 48 hours.

Mr Mustapha Salifu, Public Relations Officer of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, disclosed this in an interview with the paper in Accra.

Junior doctors are made up of house officers, medical officers, senior medical officers and resident doctors while specialists and consultants are in the senior doctor category.
