Korle-Bu Hospital unhappy about misuse of name

Accra, Oct. 25, GNA – The Management of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital on Monday cautioned Non-Governmental Organizations, musicians, event organizers and the general public against the use of the hospital’s name to promote their events.

A statement signed by Mr Mustapha Salifu, Public Relations Officer of the Hospital, pointed out that the management would take action against any person, group or organisation that used the name of the Hospital for any purpose without the expressed approval of the authorities.

“We are worried about the increasing use of the name of the Hospital by some sections of the public, who sometimes even write to indicate their preparedness to donate proceeds of such events to the Hospital but mostly fail to honour their promises,” the statement said.

It said even though the Hospital appreciated the contributions of genuine donors, it would not allow anybody or organization to exploit the name of the Hospital to further their parochial interests. The management urged the public who wished to use the name of the Hospital for any purpose to comply with the directive.
